Areas of Expertise
Individual, 1-on-1 therapy is the bedrock of GVP. As individual therapists we pride ourselves on being compassionate, creative, and committed to providing you with evidence-based cognitive behavioral therapy and other related techniques. We understand that finding the right fit can be hard, so we encourage you to try multiple therapists until you find someone you feel safe and comfortable opening up to.
One of the hardest things about having anxiety or depression (or both) is how they both can lead to isolation and loneliness. Most of us are not taught to discuss our internal distress, so we end up suffering along. Group therapy is venue we offer to help you find connection to others with similar experiences. In group therapy sessions, we teach and discuss skills that have been researched to reduce anxiety and depression.
Often times people come to therapy having struggled for a long time, with little clarity on what diagnoses they might have, and relatedly, what types of treatment might be the best fit. At GVP, we offer comprehensive psychological assessment services. We believe in educating our consumer, and therefore offer transparent care, being open with you about our hypotheses, and exploring diagnoses together to reach the best understanding.
