Frequently Asked Questions

What insurances do you take?

We only accept most Excellus and Aetna plans, and straight Medicare.

We do not accept Medicare managed plans from any other insurance plans besides Excellus and Aetna. For example we do not take: Fidelis, UnitedHealthCare, MVP, Independent Health, or any other medicaid managed plans besides Excellus and Aetna.

For folks who are out of network with us we do offer a sliding scale (reduced rate). If you are interested in learning the rate you qualify for, please email admin@gviproc.org

We see clients on weekdays, between 8am-6pm. Some therapists start later in the day or end earlier.

We do not offer weekend appointment times.

What are your hours?

Do you offer long term treatment?

We specialize in short term evidenced based treatments for anxiety, depression, OCD, trauma and DBT, meaning treatment can range from 4-6 months depending on needs. If you need long term treatment, we highly recommend getting connected with another provider outside of GVP, and come to us for any short-term, skill based therapy that you’re interested in.

Do you treat people outside of NY State?

Unfortunately, no. Due to licensing laws we are unable to see folks outside of New York State. Clients must be located in New York State during the time of sessions.

Wait times vary and are listed below. Some of our providers have immediate availability in private practice at Meridian Psychology Practice.

OCD

  • What types of services do you offer? For OCD treatment we offer individual outpatient therapy, groups, and an Intensive Program

    • Individual therapy: our waitlist is currently 6-12 months, though could be more or less depending on a multitude of factors (for example, our wait time is usually longer for teens/children).

    • OCD Groups: If you are interested in joining groups first, we require you to have an outside supportive provider. If you are interested in any of our ERP groups, one will meet with a member of our team for a brief orientation session to prepare you for groups, once that is complete you can get started with groups right away!

    • Intensive Program: We offer an intensive program for those who are interested in more intensive OCD treatment in a shorter period of time. The program requires clients to attend twice weekly sessions with a lead clinician, attending all of our OCD groups offered, and ERP coaching sessions with other members of our IOP team. The amount of coaching sessions can vary depending on insurance plans and needs.
