Sofia Falco, PsyD

Staff Psychologist

Training:  Dr. Sofia Falco is a Licensed Clinical Psychologist who earned her Doctorate in Clinical and School Psychology at Roberts Wesleyan College in Rochester, NY. Dr. Falco completed her pre-doctoral internship at the University Counseling Center at the University of Rochester. She completed her Postdoctoral Fellowship at the Genesee Valley Institute of Psychology specializing in Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT).

Clinical Expertise: Dr. Falco trained in a variety of school and health service settings including community mental health, college counseling, and school based health centers.  She has had the privilege of working with people across a wide range of backgrounds and presenting concerns. Dr Falco’s clinical interests include emotional dysregulation, trauma, and interpersonal functioning. She received generalist training and experience utilizing evidenced-based models including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), in addition to relational frameworks. 

At GVP, Dr. Falco provides Cognitive Processing Therapy (CPT) and Trauma Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT), Comprehensive DBT, CBT for anxiety and depression, and Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP) for Obsessive Compulsive Disorder (OCD).

She utilizes evidence-based practices and relational models to empower her clients with proven skills and increased self awareness.
