Valery Benitez , PsyD

Training: Dr. Valery Benitez earned her degree in Clinical Psychology from Albizu University in San Juan, Puerto Rico, and completed her pre-doctoral internship at the University of Rochester Medical Center (URMC). Valery now has the privilege of completing her Postdoctoral Fellowship at Genesee Valley Psychology, specializing in Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT)

Clinical Expertise: Dr. Benitez has received training in clinical settings such as hospitals and community clinics. She has had the privilege of working with people with diverse backgrounds and presenting challenges. Dr. Benitez's primary clinical interests include treatment for anxiety, depression, trauma, and emotional dysregulation in adults. She received generalist training and had experience utilizing evidenced-based models, including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT).

Diversity and Inclusion: As a multicultural and bilingual Spanish clinician, Dr. Benitez recognizes that maintaining and reflecting cultural humility is a lifelong journey of personal and professional growth and development. She is dedicated to creating a safe and inclusive environment for individuals of all identities, recognizing and respecting the diverse intersections of their experiences.
