His training has spanned a range of clinical and school-based settings, providing him with a broad foundation in psychological assessment and evidence-based treatment across the lifespan. He also previously completed his third-year practicum at Genesee Valley Psychology, where he worked with a diverse range of clients presenting with complex mental health needs.
Clinical Expertise: Jordan's primary clinical interest is working with adolescents and adults with Borderline Personality Disorder (BPD) and related emotion dysregulation difficulties. He has extensive training in Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), the evidence-based gold standard for BPD treatment, and has experience working with individuals across the lifespan presenting with anxiety disorders, depression, mood disorders, and Obsessive Compulsive Disorder (OCD). Jordan is additionally trained in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP), and Motivational Interviewing (MI).
Approach: Jordan utilizes a warm, empathetic approach to therapy, working alongside clients to navigate the therapeutic process in a way that feels genuine and approachable. He believes that a strong therapeutic relationship is the foundation of meaningful clinical work, and puts a significant emphasis on building trust and creating a space where clients feel safe to show up as themselves. Jordan likes to bring humor into the room when appropriate to help keep things more comfortable as the conversations get harder.
Diversity & Inclusion: Jordan approaches diversity and inclusion with genuine curiosity rather than just a checklist. He has multicultural and diversity training throughout his graduate education, but more importantly, he makes a point to let clients lead when it comes to their own identities and what feels relevant to their care. He knows there's always more to learn and stays open to being educated by the people he works with.
Research: Jordan's doctoral dissertation investigates the relationship between attachment style, social media use for validation-seeking, and borderline personality features in adolescents between the ages of 13 and 17. This work reflects his broader clinical passion for understanding the factors that shape emotional dysregulation in adolescents and how this spans into adulthood.
Ages: Jordan works with adolescents and adults.
