Abby Egan, MA

Training: Abby received her bachelor's in psychology with a minor in human development from the State University of New York at Geneseo. She is currently pursuing her Master's in Mental Health Counseling at St. John Fisher University in Rochester, NY. She has received training at Mindfit Mental Health in East Rochester, where she facilitated group based therapuetic activities for children and adolescents.

Clinical Expertise: Abby has experience working with diagnoses such as Attention Deficit Disorder, Autism Spectrum Disorder, and Social Anxiety Disorder. She is passionate about cultivating education, advocacy, and healing for folks with OCD as well as understanding intersecting trauma. Her primary modality will be Exposure-Response and Prevention.

She understands the importance of honoring a person's systemic and cultural context within the therapeutic space. She is committed to creating an environment of safety and inclusion through lifelong learning and self-reflection. 

Approach: Abby approaches treatment with empathy, active listening, and allowing a person to be the expert in their own stories. She believes healing to be a collaborative experience where she remains constantly open to feedback and self-reflection. She strives to create a space of warmth, acceptance, safety, and unconditional positive regard.
