Kate Derrenbacker, MS, BCBA/LBA
Training: Kate earned her bachelor’s degree in behavioral neuroscience from Lehigh University and her master’s degree in behavior analysis studies from SUNY Upstate Medical University. She is a nationally recognized Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) and Licensed Behavior Analyst (LBA) in the state of New York. Currently, Kate is a dual clinical/school psychology PsyD student at Roberts Wesleyan University.
Clinical Expertise: Kate has worked in the field of behavioral healthcare for over six years, serving children, adolescents, and adults impacted by a variety of treatment needs. For several years she specifically worked with youth impacted by physical, intellectual, and developmental disabilities. More recently she has expanded her background in behavioral sciences to the application of broader psychological services to individuals of all ages and ability levels. Kate has experience in the psychodiagnostic assessment and treatment of a variety of clinical needs, utilizing modalities including Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), among others.
Diversity and Inclusion: Kate believes the empowerment of others begins with a collaborative and client-led focus to treatment. She understands that each individual’s lived experience, environment, and support needs are different, and strives to learn together with her clients. Kate also strives to broaden her own experiences by engaging in ongoing training and self-reflection.
Approach: Kate is passionate about helping others build and grow essential life skills from a foundational relationship of trust and acceptance. She takes an approach to treatment that applies evidence-based practices while also incorporating each client’s unique needs and personal goals. Kate believes in meeting everyone where they are, and most importantly, walking alongside them as they strive to get to where they want to be.
